Schickel Architecture is committed to the creation of building projects of utility, economy, and beauty, in the service of each and every client.
Tom Schickel has worked in the construction industry for over 38 years. During the 1970's he started as a carpenter and superintendent, and later managed $200 million industrial projects for Gilbane Building Company. After studying liberal arts at Fordham University he studied architecture and urban design at Cornell University receiving his B.Arch. in 1981 and his M.Arch. in 1983.
From 1984 to 1992 he designed numerous multi-million dollar projects, including several new schools and major additions. These experiences shaped his dedication to creating building projects of utility, economy and beauty in the service of each and every client. This commitment is the operating principle upon which Schickel Architecture was founded in 1992. Under his leadership and dedication to excellence in design, Schickel Architecture has developed a diverse practice in the commercial, community and educational markets.
